THE QUICK VERDICT
Fitbit Charge 6 is a compact fitness tracker designed for users who want detailed activity and health tracking without wearing a full-size smartwatch. This Amazon listing is the Obsidian band with Black aluminum case, one of the standard Charge 6 color combinations sold by Google.
The tracker uses an AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and weighs about 30g. Built-in GPS and GLONASS let users record outdoor pace and distance without relying entirely on a phone, while the optical heart-rate sensor supports continuous activity tracking. Fitbit also includes more than 40 exercise modes, Active Zone Minutes, sleep metrics and stress-related tracking features.
Fitbit Charge 6 also integrates several Google services directly into the band. Google Maps can provide turn-by-turn directions, Google Wallet supports compatible contactless payments and YouTube Music controls can manage playback from the wrist. The device includes NFC, an ambient light sensor, skin-temperature sensing and electrical sensors compatible with Fitbit's ECG and EDA Scan apps where those features are available.
Battery life is rated at up to seven days depending on features and usage, with a full charge taking around two hours. The Charge 6 is rated water resistant to 50 meters and includes both small and large Infinity bands in the box.
For OFUD, the Fitbit Charge 6 remains interesting because it sits between inexpensive activity bands and more expensive smartwatches. Organic opportunities include exact-model reviews, Charge 6 vs. smartwatch comparisons, battery-life questions, GPS-focused searches and fitness-tracker buying guides. Its mature product status means competition is higher, but the brand recognition and clear feature set still make it a worthwhile evergreen catalog product.
